CM Jayalalithaa orders distribution of 830 million litres of water every day for Chennai

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has ordered that 830 million litres of drinking water to be supplied to Chennai Metro City in order to meet the demands of its residents.
In a recent news bulletin, the Chief Minister pointed out that the reservoirs were not having enough water prior to the recent heavy rains.
She said that due to the rains from Northeast monsoon, 9035 cubic feet of water have been received in the reservoirs.
This recently received water, water from the 2 desalination plants, and the water received from the New Veernam Project will be the sources for distributing 830 million litres of water every day to Chennai Metro City.
As the drinking water supply project activities have been completed in Amabattur, Ullagaram, and Puzhudhivakkam, Chief Minister has ordered for the residents in these areas to get water from the pipelines.
