Director Rohit Shetty paid a huge amount for directing the Hindi remake of Soodhu Kavvum

Soodhu Kavvum was a 2013 Tamil comedy movie, directed by Nalan Kumarasamy. This film had Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. The film is being remade in Hindi.
Sangeeta Ahir will be producing the film and it is understood that Rohit Shetty who had directed Hindi hit films like Chennai Express and Singham has been roped for directing the Hindi remake version. It has been paid a whooping amount of Rs 25 Crores.
A reliable source said, Producer Sangeeta wanted to get a top director for her production house and that doesn`t come cheap. Rohit Shetty is being wooed by the biggest studios. And this isn`t a new development. He was signed by UTV for a similar amount, three years ago.
