Dream Madras 2015

There is no innovative or creative move done with the auditorium in Valluvar Kottam that saw participation of over a hundred students in Dream Madras 2015 for celebrating Madras Week.

The theme of the event is Swachh Bharat. This saw participation from 135 schools including 85 private and 50 corporation schools. This was an exhibition where many ideas were shared.

Artifacts were made out of used plastics, bottles, and they visualized a modern city on thermocol boards. Solution for traffic troubles were also found. Meghna of Annai Velankanni Matriculation Higher Secondary School said there are several resources in Chennai with which the city can turn to be a world class one. She added that their model has shown a model for the look of the city in the year 2030. A model for disposing electronic waste was also showcased.

This also involved a cultural event for the students of Corporation schools. This was a colorful show by all the students in which they showcased their talent in dancing, puppetry and mime. All the schools were informed of this three months prior to the event. This event saw participation from over thousand children.

Shyamala Ashok, the Executive Director of United Way of Chennai said children were provided with buses for bringing them here and the arrangement was made by the Chennai Corporation. The best model was with NSN Matriculation Higher Secondary School and this was followed by TST Rajah Girls Higher Secondary School.
