Chennai central likely to have Amma pharmacy soon

Southern Railways is currently looking out for the possible options and ways to set up Amma pharmacy in Chennai central railway station.
 
The information was shared by the Chennai Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Anupam Sharma in a recent interview as a response to a question triggered to him about setting up pharmacies in central station. He said they have considered the issue and that they are now in tie-ups with private hospitals for the needed ambulance service.
 
The interview also had participation from Railway Board Member Navin Tandon who performed inspection in the railway station. Its to be noted that Mr. Tandon inaugurated the service of 18 mobile charging points in about 18 unreserved coaches in the train. He promised to set up solar power of 1000 MW capacity and wind power of 170 MW capacity in three to five years down the line. He added that 200 MW power will be generated in level crossings as well.
 
Passenger amenities in central station will be improved with the use of corporate social responsibility funds of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. These are parts of passenger facilitation fortnight.
