Students who are scared of the Plus 2 results can seek the help of Government helpline 104. The Plus 2 results are being released on 7th May. For those of the students who are confused, fear and stress, they can be counselled if they dial the government helpline 104
This year, the counselling was divided into pre-exam season, exam season and results season. Of the 8,000 calls received by the helpline before the exams, most were from anxious students and parents and even teachers who communicated their wards` concerns to staff manning the helpline and sought counselling. All staff members manning the 104 helpline, run from a 25-seat call centre, underwent an orientation programme to be able to answer queries concerning examinations and results.
In instances where suicide is feared, the helpline redirects the calls to helpline Sneha. Lakshmi Vijayakumar of Sneha said distress calls peaked during the post-examination phase, especially on the days before the results are announced.
