Sedentary lifestyle can lead to stroke

V. Needhiarasu, a neurologist says incurrence of stroke is likely in those who follow a sedentary lifestyle involving long work hours seated.
 
A medical conference took place headed by K. Azhagu of walkers’ society, Madurai. Speaking at the conference, neurologist V. Needhiarasu said as we have 3 blood vessels to carry blood to our heart, the brain gets the blood through 8 blood vessels. When there is any damage or breakage of any of these 8 blood vessels, the brain cells get affected.
 
·         Those who have sedentary lifestyle practices

·         Poor food habits

·         Those who lack in doing enough exercise

·         Stress

·         Smoking and other poor habits
 
Above are some of the causes of stroke. Excessive fat or sugar that gets deposited in our body affects the endothelium. This gets followed by the deposit of unhealthy fat which causes heart attack. When there is excessive blood pressure, it leads to breakage of blood vessels in the brain.
 
Don’ts

·         Reduce intake of non-vegetarian food

·         Avoid fried items

·         Avoid bakery items

·         Stop smoking

·         Stop drinking liquor

Include more of the below items:

·         Shallots

·         Garlic

·         Turmeric powder

·         Soya beans

·         Cauliflower

·         Tomatoes

·         Walnut

·         Almonds

·         Sea food

·         Egg white
