Too much of lesser sleep can cause death, study

Do you sleep too much, or too less, probably above 9 hours, or below 6 hours? If yes, you may be at the risk of lowering your own life expectancy. According to a new study conducted by Warwick University, it’s found that adults who take more than 9 hours of sleep are likely to die early, and the possibility rate is 30 per cent. Saying about the average acceptable sleep hours, it’s said it’s between 7 and 8 hours.

On the other hand, those who sleep lesser than 6 hours are tagged ‘Short-sleepers’ are likely too for dying earlier when compared to those who sleep for 7 hours. The reason behind shortened life expectancy is less or too much of sleep gives rise to depression, diabetes, heart diseases, or similar health issues.

Saying about the analysis report, Professor Franco Cappuccio says 30 per cent of long sleepers and 12 per cent of short sleepers died when compared to that of medium sleepers.

Alarmingly, this rise in mortality risk is equivalent to daily consumption of certain unit of alcohol, the report adds.
