Healthy Food Recipes -Chana, Cauliflower & Potato Kurma!

Ingredients:
  • White Chana – 1 cup
  • Cauliflower (Chopped) – 1 cup
  • Potato – 2 nos
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp.
  • Onion – 2 nos
  • Tomato – 2 nos
  • Green Chilli – 1 nos
  • Cinnamon, Cloves, Fennel seeds – a few
  • Curry leaves – a few
  • Coriander leaves – a few
  • Mint leaves – a little
  •        Turmeric Powder – Ό spoon
  • Sambar powder – 1 1/2 tbsp.
  • Salt – as required
  •   Cooking oil – 3 tbsp.
  • Garam Masala – ½ tsp
To Grind:
  • Coconut – a small piece
  • Fried gram – 1 tbsp.
Method of Preparation:
  1. Soak white channa overnight and pressure cook it for about 3 to 5 whistles.



  2. Thoroughly clean 2 small sized potato and peel its skin and boil it along with the white channa.
  3. Finely chop the cauliflower into small pieces. Take a bowl of water and add a pinch of turmeric powder and salt and drop the chopped cauliflower pieces in it. Allow it to boil well, so that the flower got half cooked and it eliminates the minute bugs from the flower.  Then drain the flower from the water and keep it aside.



  4. Heat the pan with a spoon of oil and add fennel seeds, cinnamon, cloves and once it splutter add few coriander leaves and mint leaves.
  5. Then add ginger-garlic paste and chopped onion and saute it well for about 2 to 3 minutes, until the onion colour changes to golden brown.
  6. Then add chopped tomato and saute till the tomato gets shrinks and the raw smell leaves.
  7. Then add the drained cauliflower pieces, smashed potatoes and the boiled white channa into it and stir well.



  8. Now add turmeric powder, sambar powder, salt and half a spoon of garam masala and mix well.
  9. As we already add salt while boiling cauliflower and white channa, now add the required measure of salt and add required quantity of water.



  10. Allow it to boil for about 5 to 10 minutes. Now grind a small coconut piece and fried gram in a mixer with water and add it to the dish and stir well.
  11. Keep on stirring for about 2 minutes, so as avoid contents get sticking on to the bottom of the pan.



  12. Transfer it a serving bowl and sprinkle a few coriander leaves for garnishing.



  13. Serve Hot!
  14. Apt side dish for Idli, Dosai and Chapati!
