Metro Rail Project: Tunnelling work in the section Shenoy Nagar-Nehru Park completed!

The elevated corridor between Koyambedu and Alandur for the Metro rail Project has been completed.
Tunnelling work is 72% completed. The work is on full swing to complete the balance.
The first of the tunneeling work between Central & Thirumangalam, the section between Thirumangalam & Shenoy Nagar is already completed. Tunnelling work in the section between Shenoy Nagar and Nehru Park was in progress.. Now, this is also completed.
It is expected that the tunnelling work between Nehru Park & Egmore will be completed soon.
The track-laying work is in progress in the tunnel between Thirumangalam & Shenoy Nagar. The work in the tunnel section between Nehru Park & Shenoy Nagar is in full swing.
Metro Project authorities informed that the tunneling work in the Egmore-Thrirumangalam section will be completed before the end of this year.
It is expected that the trains may operate in this section by the year end.
