State Government orders introduction of Identity Cards for all construction workers from other states!

Plenty of construction activities are in progress all over Tamil Nadu. Most of the workers employed in construction come from outside the state.
However, there is no system in practice to register the details of these construction workers from other states.
The state government has now a decision to streamline a system to keep proper record of all construction workers from other states.
The secretary of the Department of Labour Welfare, Mr. M. Veerashanmugamani has released the guiding procedure to include all construction workers from other states in the state labour welfare board.
The officials are to visit every construction site, take photographs of the construction workers and issue the identity cards on the spot.
The construction workers have to furnish the copy of details given by the employers as proof or birth certificate or age-proof certificate or ration card or driver’s licence or Aadhar card.
