2,300 families benefit under marriage scheme

More than 2,300 families received 4 gram gold and Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000, depending on their educational qualification under the state government`s `Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme`. The event was organised by the social welfare department at the Ripon Buildings. Under the scheme, educated girls from poor families are selected as beneficiaries.
