‘Karthigai Deepam Festival’: Gold Coin prize for devotees with cloth bags!

Thiruvannamalai District Collector, Mr. A. Gnanasekharan, has announced that the devotees who carry environment-friendly bags made of cloth, jute, etc will be given prizes of gold and silver coins through a lucky-draw.

The district administration of Thiruvannamalai & the state government of Tamil Nadu have taken joint measures to reduce usage of plastic bags and recommend using environment-friendly bags made of cloth & jute.

Devotees coming to the festival on 5th December carrying cloth/jute bags will be eligible for prizes of gold and silver coins based on a lucky-draw.

5 special centres have been formed to check this at Grace Hospital  (Thiruvannamalai-Tindivanam Road), Chengam Road Sandhaimedu Bus stop, Kuberalingam located at the bottom of the mountain, and Anna entrance gate at Vellore Road.

Devotees can show their cloth & jute bags and get it sealed and get the numbered ticket.

The tickets from the 5 centres will be collected every hour and computer-based lucky draw will be conducted. The winners will get 10gm silver coins.

There will be a computer-based lucky draw for the tickets collected from the 5 centres for every 8 hours. One number will be selected and the winner will get a 2 gm gold coin.

 Lucky draws will be conducted from 6.00 am on 5th December till 6.00 am on 6th December.

24 silver coins and 3 gold coins are to be won.
