Notice for explanation sent to 22 Lakh persons for not filing IT returns!

The Income Tax department has intensified its actions on the individuals and companies which fail to file their IT returns.
IT Department higher officials informed that campaign & notices demanding explanation has been sent to 22 lakh individuals for failing to file their IT returns.
Further, as apart of the campaign, additional time was given to file IT returns.
The IT department is set to take legal action on the high income bracket individuals who have failed to file their IT returns.
Legal action has been commenced on 641 individuals for the financial year 2013-14.
