A recent research informs that those who indulge in long hours of TV watching are likely to die early!

The report also details the harms of watching long hours of TV.

As a general rule, most things that offer enthusiasm and entertainment to us cause certain harms; TV is not an exception.

A research was undertaken on the harms of watching long hours of TV as entertainment.

It was established that long hours of watching TV reduces one’s life span.

It was estimated that each individual above the age of 25 loses 22 minutes of his/her life for every hour of TV watching.

Further, the individuals who watch TV in lying position are likely to suffer from heart diseases, diabetes, and even certain types of cancer leading to early death!

The research expert informed that any reduction in the normal physical work harms the body health.

The habit of sitting or lying down at one place for long hours without breaks for standing or walking, tends to reduce the energy levels required by the body.

The tendency to be idle for several hours in a day, several days in a week, and subsequently several months in a year can increase the body weight. Increased body weight makes it difficult to walk long distances or keep standing for a long time.

The habit of keeping long idle hours leads to reduction in the quantity of enzymes produced by the tissues. This has been established beyond doubt. These enzymes do the function of controlling the sugar level and the fat content in the blood.

In the sitting or lying posture, the hands, legs and the spine are under complete rest. When the individual is involved in activities, the sugar level in blood will be under control. Keeping idle for long hours hampers this control.
